Footage of the volcanic labyrinths of Dimmuborgir (Dark Castles) is cosily layered with Golden Plovers at Djupivogur and luminance levels are adjusted by an image of a ‘traditional’ icelandic lopi sweater knitted on the journey. My boots on volcanic gravel, slowed down, becomes the deeper rhythmic shift of a volcanic landscape.

One of ongoing series of video paintings and sketches exploring the relationship between modern Icelandic culture and the landscape.
